How can we humans call ourselves ‘civilized’ and having high
moral standards when we allow something as brutal and atrocious as the annual
seal ‘hunt’ off of the east coast of Canada to continue to go on year after
year? Do we live in the 21st
century, or have we digressed back to the dark ages? When do we come to the conclusion that
perhaps some ‘traditions’ are not worth carrying on? If the Aztec civilization still existed and
they continued to sacrifice their babies to the ‘gods’ would the world stand by
and excuse it as a ‘sacred cultural tradition’?
Where do we draw the line between cultural traditions and/or rites and
just plain barbaric psychopathic behavior?
For those of you unfamiliar with the Canadian seal 'hunt', I've recently finished reading a book by Paul Watson entitled "Seal Wars". Feel free to read it and do some other research on the web to decide for yourselves. We can stop this disgusting practice by boycotting Canadian seafood products and ANY products that are made from seals. For more information visit the Sea Shepherd website at: www.seashepherd.org
